Service beyond project completion
When requirements change, DS Automotion supports its customers with experience and technical expertise. The After-Project Team ensures long-term reliable system operation through expansions, modernizations, and custom adaptations — enabling users to benefit economically from their systems for decades.

The transport solutions from DS AUTOMOTION, a leading expert in mobile robotics, are designed for decades of use. Ensuring that systems in production, logistics, or data centers operate reliably over the long term requires competent technical support — and that is exactly what DS AUTOMOTION's After-Project Team provides. "Our mission is to keep systems fit for the future — whether through expansion, modernization, or retrofitting our automated guided vehicles and systems," explains Martin Dollhäubl, Head of After Sales Service at DS AUTOMOTION. The range of tasks spans from simple software updates and system expansions to complete modernizations during ongoing operations. "'Can't be done' is not in our vocabulary. We always look for a solution. What matters is that the customer feels: they are not alone — we take care of the task," Dollhäubl assures.
Solutions for new requirements
Typical triggers for deploying the After-Project Team are changes in production. "If a customer wants to manufacture a new product, for example, we check whether the existing system is suitable for it. If not, we adapt the fleet accordingly in engineering," Dollhäubl describes. Changed workflows with additional stations or modified travel routes are also part of his team's day-to-day work. This is not only about technology, but also about planning reliability: "The customer must be able to rely on getting exactly what they need — with no unpleasant surprises." This is particularly true in hospitals, where the vehicles handle recurring tasks such as transporting medication, meals, sterile goods, or waste — a context that demands the utmost sensitivity: "Our work is often like open-heart surgery. We reconfigure systems while they are running — without anyone noticing." This is made possible by six experienced team members who have had an in-depth knowledge of the systems for years. "We maintain complete documentation for every system. This makes the work enormously easier for our staff — whether it involves maintenance, expansion, or modernization," adds Martin Dollhäubl.
Proactively engaging in dialogue
In addition to handling incoming requests, the After-Project Team also reaches out proactively to customers. Regular on-site visits help identify needs early and deepen relationships. "Many customers appreciate that we actively seek dialogue and thereby demonstrate how important their system is to us. This strengthens customer trust over the long term and keeps us in close contact," says Dollhäubl. For users, this means maximum operational reliability, continuous modernization, and a partner that remains available even after decades — many DS AUTOMOTION systems have been in continuous operation for over 25 years. "It's about giving our customers peace of mind. Our customers should know: their system is in good hands — and we will always find a solution," Dollhäubl concludes.
