24 Phrases Logistics Professionals Are Tired of Hearing
A slightly different logistics advent calendar for 2026

In a nutshell: Logistics keeps the world running. 24/7, global, digital, sustainable, efficient. And yet, even in 2026, logistics professionals still have to hear phrases that make every forklift operator's eyes roll.
We're opening our advent calendar and presenting:
24 statements that should please retire in 2026:
- "Why is the transition taking so long?"
Because automation is more complex than assembling an IKEA shelf. - "Let's just ship it — customs won't ask questions."
Customs asks. Always. - "We'll implement it when nothing else comes up."
Perfect — so never. - "We can just schedule more people."
Sure, if we could pick them up at a hardware store. - "The driver probably knows the EORI number."
He drives. He's not a walking government office. - "We just launched a discount promotion — it'll be fine!"
Oh, it'll run alright. Straight into overload mode. - "Can you spontaneously allocate capacity for that?"
Spontaneous is not a KPI. - "With robots, you need fewer staff now."
Robots need people. More than you'd think. - "We'll sort that out later."
Later is the new never. - "Maintenance is rarely necessary."
Rarely = exactly when peak season hits. - "We'll skip the packaging — it'll hold up fine."
Famous last words before the damage report arrives. - "Can we somehow do this cheaper?"
Logistics is not a flea market. - "But we discussed that."
But never documented it. - "Could you please prioritize this?"
Everything is already prioritized. Since yesterday. - "Could you quickly recommend a freight forwarder?"
Sure. Which one? Where? When? How? Why? For what? - "We just need to quickly standardize the processes."
Quickly = six months of change management. - "Can't the driver just wait?"
Unfortunately, he doesn't have a weekend cottage in the parking lot. - "Our Solution fits any warehouse."
Even one that hasn't changed since 1987? - "We don't have the capacity for that right now."
Capacity doesn't just show up on its own. - "Our AI learns independently."
Only after we've taught it everything. - "We'll find space somewhere."
Somewhere = on the moon. - "Packaging costs need to come down."
Then damage costs will go up. - "Three more boxes will fit on there easily."
Easily = unstable + safety hazard. - "Let's just take that into the next meeting."
Where tasks go to never come back.
And which phrase do YOU not want to hear in 2026?
When we put planning, communication and appreciation on the same pallet, logistics becomes not just movement, but genuine collaboration.
In 2026, logistics stands for efficiency, sustainability and digital Solutions. But sometimes the greatest gift of all is simply this: realistic expectations, clean processes and open communication.
That would be the most sustainable innovation of 2026.
