E-Commerce Logistics in a Shuttle Warehouse: Warehouse Meetup at Bergzeit

E-commerce logistics that grows will eventually hit its limits – in floor space, capacity, and the speed of manual processes. How Bergzeit reached that point and what decision followed can be experienced first-hand on 21 July.

At the next Warehouse Meetup, Bergzeit opens its doors in Otterfing. You'll see a 7-aisle shuttle warehouse with over 55,000 bin locations running in live operation, learn how B2C fulfillment and automated picking work together, and get to ask the questions that product presentations rarely answer.

About Bergzeit

Bergzeit is a German retailer for outdoor and mountain sports equipment with more than 40,000 products in its online shop and two brick-and-mortar stores. At the Otterfing site, goods were initially stored and picked from shelving racks entirely manually. As the company grew, this system reached its capacity limits.

The answer: a new building with a shuttle warehouse that makes the best possible use of the available space. The system now enables the dispatch of up to 1,000 parcels per hour.

The warehouse tour is complemented by a short keynote input and time for conversation. No sales pitches, no Vendor presentations – just operational logistics managers among peers.

What are Warehouse Meetups?

Warehouse Meetups are small, regional events where operational logistics managers visit real warehouses together. The concept: learn from one another and see logistics Solutions in live operation rather than in product pitches. The focus is on hands-on operational experience, practical questions, and direct peer-to-peer exchange. And ideally, you'll leave with fresh ideas for your own logistics operation.

The meetups are exclusively aimed at warehouse managers, project leads, and operational executives in logistics.

Please note: The meetups are exclusively aimed at warehouse managers, project leads, and operational executives in logistics. Registrations from Solution Vendors cannot unfortunately be considered.
