How users rate Descartes pixi WMS
100 % of reviewers would recommend this solution (counts reviews that scored the recommendation question 4 or 5 out of 5; 1 to 3 counts as no recommendation).
How we calculate the even Score
The even Score (0 to 100) sets the order of solutions. It is based only on published reviews:
- 85% quality: the average of performance, reliability and maintenance effort per review.
- Recency: newer reviews count more. After one year, a review counts only half as much.
- Smoothing: with few reviews, the value is pulled towards the category average. A single review cannot push a solution to the very top or bottom.
- 15% recommendation: how many reviewers would recommend the solution (NPS logic).
None of this can be bought: plans, advertising and partnerships play no part.

„Scalable Efficiency and Reliable Processes in Shipping“
We use Descartes pixi WMS as a central system in the areas of mail-order retail and warehouse logistics. The system maps our complete process chain — from order receipt through warehouse management to shipping fulfillment — making it a key backbone of our operational workflows. A central challenge prior to implementation was the limited scalability of our processes. Rising parcel volumes led to increased time expenditure and organizational complexity. With pixi, we were able to address this challenge sustainably by automating, structuring, and system-driven controlling of our workflows. As a result, we have significantly increased our shipping speed and reduced sources of error. In addition, the system resolves the problem of insufficient transparency in inventory and order status. Today, we have a clear data foundation available at all times for planning, management, and controlling. Even with continued growth, our processes remain stable and efficient.
Descartes pixi WMS has been a central pillar of our shipping operations for many years. The system has played a key role in structuring, automating, and sustainably scaling our logistics processes. Particularly noteworthy are its high process stability, continuous development through regular updates, and excellent integration into our system landscape. The transparency gained over inventory, order status, and key metrics enables us to make well-informed, data-driven decisions and manage growth efficiently. Even as parcel volumes increase, our workflows remain reliable and high-performing. This overall picture is rounded off by exceptionally fast and competent support. In summary, pixi is a professional, future-proof Solution for us that convincingly combines stability, scalability, and service quality.
Pixi meets our requirements in terms of functionality and adaptability to a very high degree. All core processes in warehouse management, order fulfillment, and shipping are supported reliably and in a structured manner. We are particularly impressed by the consistent process logic, which enables clear control and scaling of our shipping operations. The system also proves flexible in terms of adaptability. Individual requirements, new shipping service providers, or additional interfaces can generally be integrated without difficulty. Regular updates add new features and continuously optimize existing processes, ensuring we always remain technologically up to date. For highly specific or exceptional requirements, some coordination effort may arise, particularly when external systems or third-party Vendors are involved.
The software Solution significantly supports us in making data-driven decisions within our logistics processes, as it provides transparent and up-to-date metrics on order volumes, inventory levels, throughput times, and shipping status at all times. This allows us to identify bottlenecks early and manage staffing and capacity planning in a targeted manner. Seasonal fluctuations can also be better forecast and prepared for using historical data. The structured data foundation reduces gut-feel decisions and creates a reliable basis for both operational and strategic measures. Furthermore, the ability to analyze error rates and process times enables us to continuously optimize our workflows, delivering sustainable efficiency gains across the entire shipping operation.
Even more customizable dashboards with freely configurable KPIs would be desirable, enabling faster visual analysis of operational metrics. A more flexible reporting function with enhanced filtering and export options would further simplify data-driven management. In addition, deeper automation of certain routine processes — such as rule-based prioritization or intelligent suggestions for warehouse slotting optimization — would add value. A simplified configuration of interfaces to new third-party vendors could also help reduce implementation times further.
„pixi is a modern, process-optimized warehouse management solution“
I really enjoy using Descartes pixi WMS in our company. It has brought us significant speed advantages in parcel shipping. Scaling our warehouse management no longer requires additional staff. The error rate is almost zero, which increases efficiency. Furthermore, the detailed reports that pixi provides enable well-informed decisions that further optimize our warehouse operations. Transparency across all processes is another major advantage that helps us consistently deliver on time.
Descartes pixi WMS offers an open API that we use to retrieve relevant data for our logistics solutions. This allows us to make well-informed decisions throughout the logistics process. The reporting module includes numerous useful reports that greatly support us in analysis and decision-making. These features enable us to optimize our processes and increase efficiency in shipping.
I would like a KPI dashboard that works without licensing and can be displayed on a TV screen in the warehouse. The current dashboard is only accessible after logging in, which requires a license and makes it impractical for my purposes. In addition, improved API documentation would be helpful. Some time ago, the documentation was migrated to a new system, which significantly impacted its quality. Clear and comprehensive documentation would greatly simplify usage and increase efficiency.
Pixi optimizes all warehouse processes: items are created with full details and stored using chaotic storage. When stock runs low, Pixi automatically generates purchase suggestions for the industry. During goods receipt, items are scanned and put away, while route-optimized picking handles multiple orders simultaneously. Finally, items are scanned out, distributed into boxes, and shipping labels are generated.
„Absolutely recommendable software for small and medium-sized online shops. The price-performance ratio is right, and the customer service is top-notch.“
We use Descartes/Pixi for the complete processing of our online shop. Purchasing, customer service, invoice generation, shipping — in short, the entire package you need for an online shop.
We are absolutely satisfied with Descartes/Pixi and have been for approximately 13 years. Special requests are fulfilled, and the functionalities are excellent.
The solution covers everything we need in terms of features. If customer-specific solutions are required, they are implemented.
We make our decisions entirely based on the data that Pixi provides us. The data relates to purchasing and logistics.
We might need additional, more specific reports. However, we would need to develop concepts for this, which we currently don't have the time for.
