S2data Integrated Route and Tariff Optimization

The route planning module with integrated rate optimization creates a holistic optimization of routes, rates, and cargo space utilization. Through integration with load space planning and consideration of Total Cost of Ownership, the platform offers a future-proof Solution that reduces costs, time, and emissions while enhancing transparency and efficiency in transport planning.

S2data Integrated Route and Tariff Optimization

Overview

The route planning module with integrated rate optimization of the S2data Platform dynamically and data-driven optimizes routes and costs. It analyzes delivery requirements, time windows, and loading as well as unloading points to create efficient tours for FTL (Full Truck Load), LTL (Less Than Truckload), and milk run tours. Through smart consolidation, stops are reduced, empty runs avoided, and vehicle capacities optimally utilized. The rate optimization automatically compares various cost models and selects the most economical combination of rates. In addition to transport costs, warehousing and capital commitment costs as well as CO₂ emissions are taken into account to minimize the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Predictive algorithms enable long-term efficient planning that also responds to rate changes and demand adjustments. The module dynamically adapts to production fluctuations, supply bottlenecks, or traffic disruptions. Together with load space optimization, it ensures that vehicles are loaded efficiently and routed via the most cost-effective and sustainable routes. Results: reduced transport costs, fewer emissions, and minimal planning effort. With automated PDF tour plans and a user-friendly interface, the S2data Platform offers a flexible, sustainable, and efficient Solution for modern transport requirements.

Frequently asked questions

The route optimization with integrated tariff optimization of the S2data Platform optimizes transport processes through dynamic, data-driven planning that combines logistical and economic parameters. The process begins with the integration of relevant data from TMS or ERP systems, including delivery addresses, time windows, vehicle capacities, as well as historical and current tariff data. This information is analyzed to identify consolidation potential and leverage synergies between different deliveries. Route planning bundles deliveries in a way that minimizes stops and makes optimal use of available capacity. The software takes into account factors such as mileage reduction, load space utilization, and driving times. This is complemented by tariff optimization, which automatically compares various cost models and selects the most cost-effective combination of tariffs. Indirect costs such as warehousing, capital commitment, and CO₂ costs are also factored into the calculation. Depending on requirements, the platform selects the appropriate mode of transport – whether FTL, LTL, or Milkrun – and integrates it into the planning process. Route planning works closely with load space optimization: after determining the optimal loading configuration, the platform aligns routes accordingly to deploy vehicles efficiently and cost-effectively. Changes such as traffic disruptions, production fluctuations, or urgent delivery requirements are dynamically accounted for in real time, and routes are proactively recalculated. Dispatchers receive updated route suggestions containing information on stops, time windows, and loading and unloading sequences. By reducing distances and empty runs, as well as selecting low-emission routes, the platform makes a significant contribution to CO₂ reduction and resource conservation. At the same time, transport costs are lowered and the transparency of logistics processes increases. With its user-friendly interface and automated planning, the S2data Platform combines efficiency, sustainability, and cost reduction in a forward-looking solution for transport logistics.
